What is Hash House Harriers about?
Hashing, as we know it, began in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1938, when a group of restive British company men started a hare & hounds running group. They named the group after their meeting place, the Selangor Club, aka the "Hash House." But enough with the boring history lesson, to us, Hashing is about meeting people, drinking lots of beer and staying fit whilst doing the other two.
When and where do we meet?
The Hash meets every Saturday (unless we decide not to) at the GOLD MANGO BAR at 361 Huanshi Dong Lu at 1:30pm with a 2:00pm sharp departure. The GOLD MANGO BAR is located across from the Garden Hotel, next door to the Elephant & Castle Pub and a few meters from the Bai Yun Binguan (Hotel). The GOLD MANGO BAR number is: (20) 8359-7564.
Who's invited?
Anyone who is somewhat fit and likes adventure, the countryside, and has a reasonable and bawdy sense of humor is invited to join our fun loving group.
What will it cost me?
50 RMB buys you a seat (well, maybe) on a chartered bus (that leaves now at 2:00pm sharp) to the day's hash location plus all you can drink of your choice of beverage - beer, soft drink or water! The bus is often packed like a rock concert and usually not dissimilar from a medieval torture device, but after the "Hash Circle" that will probably be the least of your concerns. Usually, we have a "Hash Dinner", "Hash Pub Crawl" and sometimes even other drunken activities after that.
